Help/Frequently Asked Questions

If you have questions that aren't answered here feel free to email: petget@petget.com.

Please note: Greyfind is not an adoption group, does not have any dogs available for adoption. If you have questions about the availability, cost, or suitability of your home for a greyhound you need to contact a local adoption group.

Where can I find an adoption group?
If you are considering adoption your first step is to check out your local adoption groups. You can find a world-wide group listing at Adopt-a-Greyhound.org. Compare the local groups to find one that best fits your needs.

Where do I find my dog's racing name?
First you need to get your dog's tattoo numbers. The left ear number is the 5 digit litter number and the right ear is two numbers and a letter. Once you have these numbers (or your best guess) you can contact the National Greyhound Association for more information.

Where else can I look for litter mate info?
Try Greyhound-Data.com, even if you can't find info on the owners you may at least be able to find litter mate names, coat colors and racing histories.

Do greyhounds get along with kids/small animals/cats?
It all depends on the individual dog. Your best bet is to go with an adoption group that temperament tests their dogs and keeps them in foster homes. Generally a group that fosters their dogs can give you a better idea of what they are like in a home environment.
